Lose Weight This Week: Here's How!
New fitness and weight loss goals can feel very distant. People often start out with a lot of motivation, which they lose as time goes by, and the effort becomes more taxing. Why do others succeed? Many people are able to lose weight and keep it off. What is their secret?
The first priority is to decide what you want to accomplish. Would you enjoy feeling great in your clothes again or, better yet, shopping for new clothes that are several sizes smaller then your current size? Is there a certain amount of weight that you want to lose? Are you invested in becoming a healthier, more physically fit person?
Each week, you should chart your progress, so you know if you are improving. It's a good idea to keep a journal and to weigh yourself at least once per week. Your journal should include a food diary so that you can keep track of your daily eating habits. Writing down what you are eating will help you remember to make healthier choices.
If you are hungry, it is easy to make a bad decision. You're not taking into account whether it's a healthy choice - you just want to ease your hunger pangs as quickly as possible! You should always keep snacks available and schedule time to eat your meals. Be sure to plan your meals and have your food prepared in advance so you will not be tempted to get fast food. This can help you reduce spending on food as well as reducing the amount of calories you put into your body.
A truly great weight loss plan will focus on both diet and exercise. You have to take the time for physical activities that you actually want to do. Choosing a workout that you genuinely enjoy can make your exercise time a priority in your schedule instead of something you forget about. Maybe you like chilling with your friends. Then you could play a game of basketball with them, or some other sport you like. Do you enjoy just forgetting about your worries and enjoying yourself? Sign up for some type of dancing lessons. Do you escape life by going out into nature? Go on a hike in the great outdoors or explore your local park.
If your house does not have junk food, there is no way you can eat it. Unhealthy eating habits are usually due to your environment. By keeping things such as fruits, veggies and granola bars stocked in your house, you will be more likely to choose these more healthy treats. Get rid of snacks that are full of sugars and empty calories.
Share your weight loss goals with friends and family. By having their support and inspiration, you are more likely to succeed in your goals. Get together with your supporters when you feel like quitting so you can get motivated again.
