Losing weight can be such an uphill battle, and sometimes it seems like you will never reach your goals. You start off feeling extremely pumped about your weight loss goals, but after a few weeks, this excitement wears off. Once this happens, the tendency is to quit. Why is it that some people can actually lose the weight and keep it off? What do they know about weight loss that you don't?
First and foremost, you need to figure out what you want to accomplish and set mini goals to help you reach your ultimate weight loss goal. Is there a specific function that you need to lose weight for? Is there a specific weight loss goal you'd like to reach? Is it energy that you need, or do you have a medical condition that requires you to lose weight? This is the type of thing you need to use to question yourself.
Writing down your weight loss results can be a great motivator for losing weight. Implement a weight loss diary in which you can record every food and beverage you consume. At the end of the day, total up your calorie intake and see if you are within an acceptable range. Keep your weekly weight losses or gains in this journal, as well. You should consider using a graph in your weight loss journal as they can be especially helpful!
Allowing yourself to become overly hungry is a huge mistake. When you're famished, you have no self control. Select items for your menus beforehand, and keep snack foods on hand for whenever the need may arise. Pack your own lunch whenever you can. By packing a lunch, you are saving money and avoiding potentially bad choices while at work or school.
A weight loss plan that incorporates both diet and exercise is best. It is important that you take part in workouts that you enjoy a minimum of five times a week. If you keep neglecting exercise because it is boring, then use the activities you enjoy to get some exercise. Do you enjoy spending time with your friends? Take them on in a game of basketball. Do you enjoy just forgetting about your worries and enjoying yourself? Dance classes may be the way to go. Are you more comfortable with nature? Hit those hiking trails!
Take some time to eliminate all unhealthy junk foods from your house. You can't give into temptation if rich, fatty foods aren't available. Stock your kitchen full of healthy foods you love. This will make it difficult to have the foods that are bad for you within easy access, which means you will not eat as much of them.
Make exercise a friendly affair, and ask a buddy to join you. If we are on our own, we often make excuses to relieve ourselves of more difficult responsibilities. If someone else is exercising alongside you, you'll be less likely to take a break when the workout starts to wear you down. Friends help by giving support and motivation.
